Small Town Life in the City

For a taste of small-town life in the city, not much beats Mount Washington Village. Just a short ride from downtown Baltimore on the Light Rail, the village is easily accessible and walkable. Packed within a few blocks are boutique shops, salons, cafes, and restaurants. Enjoy shopping and dining amid a landscape of wooded hills, mature trees, and a babbling stream. Walk a few blocks north of the village to discover public parks, or a few blocks south to visit Mt. Washington Mill, which houses businesses, a Whole Foods, coffee shop, artist studios, and an ice cream shop.

Tavern Toasting

This charming northern Baltimore neighborhood offers options for fans of tavern dining and drinking. The stylishly cozy Nickel Taphouse serves elevated pub fare like oysters, mussels and burgers, as well as hearty dishes like steak and (horseradish mashed) potatoes. It’s also a craft beer mecca with rotating taps of brews from Baltimore and around the world. Around the corner in the quaint Mount Washington village is Mount Washington Tavern, which also has a broad fancy pub menu. Patrons can imbibe at three different bars, including one with an upstairs open air area, which is a lovely option for warm nights.

City Close and Country Quiet

Nestled among the hills just outside downtown Baltimore, Mount Washington Conference Center and its historic Octagon are a distinctive destination for meetings and events. The campus includes 48 guest rooms, each with a private balcony with views of its 68 picturesque acres.
