December 10, 2014 – Synchronicities, the three-city meetings and conventions sales partnership between Baltimore, San Antonio and Anaheim, announced today that APCO International has chosen Synchronicities to host three future APCO Annual Conference and Exposition events. The APCO Annual Conference and Exposition will take place in Baltimore, San Antonio and Anaheim in 2019, 2021 and 2022, respectively.
APCO International is the world’s oldest and largest not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to the enhancement of public safety communications. The Annual Conference and Exposition attracts 5,000 attendees who utilize more than 10,000 room nights annually offering cutting-edge educational experiences, effective networking opportunities, and a showcase of the industry’s latest and greatest products and services.
“Our members like that we rotate our conference and expo around the country; Synchronicities offered a novel way to put several different and desirable sites on our schedule while enjoying the economies of a multiyear deal,” said Mark Cannon, chief of staff, APCO International.
APCO International is the latest organization to partner with Synchronicities, joining the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and the National Postal Forum. For meeting professionals, Synchronicities provides ongoing opportunities to maximize return on investment by uniting three destinations for a coast-to-coast, year-to-year knowledge transfer. This ensures consistent service, creates customized attendee engagement opportunities and delivers bottom-line value.
“We are thrilled that APCO International has chosen to work with Synchronicities and welcome the opportunity to host them in Baltimore in 2019,” said Tom Noonan, president and CEO of Visit Baltimore. “As partners in the planning process, the teamwork between the Synchronicities cities allows us to
showcase consistent service delivery, sharing of intellectual capital and seamless communication.”
“We’re thrilled that San Antonio has the opportunity to help APCO build upon their successes year over year through Synchronicities,” said Casandra Matej, executive director of the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Our strategic coast-to-coast partnership provides APCO a united team spread across three of the nation’s most desirable meeting destinations. This not only enhances communication and the ease of doing business, but also saves valuable planning time and dollars.”
“The Synchronicities partnership between our team in Anaheim and the teams in Baltimore and San Antonio has really proven to us that by banding together, we can bring in and service notable groups, like APCO International,” said Jay Burress, president and CEO of Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau. “As we continue to nurture and promote this opportunity to potential clients and meetings professionals, we are sure to gain even more events signing up for multi-city, multiyear deals, understanding the added value we add as a three-city partnership.”

Synchronicities offers the chance to meet in three of the nation’s premier destinations:
San Antonio’s exquisite culture and walkable meeting scene intertwine along the picturesque River Walk. Located in historic downtown, the River Walk connects the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center with thousands of hotel rooms, the city’s burgeoning culinary scene and authentic venues. San Antonio is currently investing $325 million into the transformation of its convention center to offer 514,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, including 86,500 square feet of column-free multipurpose space and a new 54,000-square-foot ballroom.
Baltimore is easy to get to and easy to get around with a walkable convention campus featuring the Baltimore Convention Center with 300,000 square feet of exhibit space, and the famed Inner Harbor. Great restaurants, world-class attractions and museums, outstanding sports venues, and 9,000 hotel rooms (5,500 committable) are part of the city’s compact, convenient “convention community.” Neighborhoods – from trendy Harbor East and kitschy Hampden, to the cultural hub of Mount Vernon to historic Federal Hill and Fell’s Point – are great places for attendees to explore and discover Baltimore.
Anaheim is centrally located between Los Angeles and San Diego, in the heart of Orange County. Enjoy a huge choice of shopping excursions, dining and nightlife venues, and family-fun attractions throughout Anaheim – from historic Center Street to downtown Disney to the famed Anaheim GardenWalk. The Anaheim Convention Center will begin a $180 million expansion that will add 200,000 square feet of flexible, multipurpose space to the existing 1.6 million square feet of meeting and exhibit space. The new expansion will feature finished ceilings, carpet on both levels and an outdoor terrace overlooking Katella Avenue where guests can enjoy Anaheim’s year-round balmy weather.
