Hollis Thoms Requiem (2020) [in the time of coronavirus]

Bach in Baltimore presents the world premiere of Hollis Thoms Requiem, written to honor and commemorate the lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. This original composition will be paired with Bach’s Cantata 4: Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death’s bonds). Bach’s Cantata 4 is believed to be one of the earliest surviving cantatas composed by Bach.
