Creative Tab Setting

Explore creative approaches to tab-setting in this two day course. Students will investigate form and design through making a pendant or pin with a cabochon (convex polished stone with a flat back) brought from home, or a vintage cabochon of their choice (provided). Students can expect to gain familiarity with drilling, piercing and sawing, surface finishing and tab setting in this course. Set your unique cabochon, or set your standard shape cabochon in a creative way! No prerequisites.

Start and end times: June 27 and June 28, 10 a.m. – 4p.m.

Cost: $250 class; $70 materials fee

Materials Fee Includes: Copper sheet, brass sheet, vintage cabochon, solder, saw blades, drill bits, tie tacks (pin) or cord (pendant)
