The B-Side

Home B-Side

Show your pride. Share your side.

Much like the “B-Side” of an album, Baltimore has deeper, undiscovered tracks that are begging to be heard. We invite you to turn over the surface-level narrative and listen to what’s been overlooked. On the “A-side,” outsiders may only hear the headlines and stereotypes. But on the B-side, there’s a richer story.

Help us “flip the record over” by sharing your positive Baltimore stories: moments that reveal the heart of the city, counter the narrative and showcase what makes Charm City unforgettable.

Share Your Story

lift your voice, show your pride, share your sideWe invite you to share YOUR positive Baltimore story — moments that reveal the heart of the city, counter the narrative so often heard on the local news and showcase what makes Baltimore unforgettable. Stories that shift perspectives, spark pride and celebrate the city we know and love.

Don’t know where to start? Here are some ideas:

  • Tell us about an experience that filled you with pride for this city and its people.
  • Highlight an interaction that made you feel seen, welcomed and part of something bigger.
  • When others challenge what they think they know about this great city, what story do you share to change that narrative?
  • Share an experience that made you fall even more in love with Baltimore, its grit, its heart, its authenticity.

The B-Side Anthem

Authentic, creative and proudly Baltimore, The B-Side Anthem reflects Charm City through the voices of its own community. Created in partnership with Wide Angle Youth Media and featuring original music by local artists with narration by Carmelo Anthony, it leans into the record flip to reveal a deeper, more authentic side of the city, highlighting real people and amplifying local talent.

From The B-Side

Created in Baltimore with Baltimore artists, From The B-Side captures the city’s rhythm, texture and emotional pulse. The track was shaped through a collaborative workshop where musicians explored what Baltimore truly sounds like, followed by field recordings that captured the city in motion. Original music and lyrics blend with these authentic sounds — from the churn of a snowball machine to the “O” during the national anthem at Oriole Park at Camden Yards — grounding the piece in a true sense of place.

Featured musicians span genres from jazz to R&B, classical to house. The result is a track that honors each artist’s individuality while coming together as a powerful collaboration that reflects Baltimore’s musical identity. Featuring original works by: Black Assets, Brandon Woody, Ducky Dynamo, Chloe Smith, Jay R Neutron, Jeremiah Thompson and John Tyler.
