An Evening with the Experts: Let's Talk Climate Tipping Points

As global CO2 emissions rise ever more rapidly, there is an increasing risk of triggering changes in key components of the Earth system that may respond abruptly and/or irreversibly on human relevant time scales. These “tipping points”, if crossed, threaten potentially catastrophic consequences for the human-earth system. This evening event will focus on the risks inherent to, and the action neccessary for avoiding the crossing of tipping points. The event is being held as part of the Tipping Points Modeling Intercomparison Project (TIPMIP) General Assembly, Dec. 4-7 2024 in Baltimore.

Format: Keynote and multimedia presentations from expert tipping points scientists, communicators and policymakers in an informal, evening TED-style setting.
