Annual Voices of History Street Fair

Event Highlights:
Free Community Event: Open to all
Vendors: Local crafts, art, and food
Music & Performances: Live entertainment featuring local talent
Children’s Area: Fun activities and games for kids
Informational Booths: Health, wellness, and community resources
Museum Access: The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum will be open for both walk-in visitors and scheduled group tours throughout the day. Guests are invited to experience our powerful new wax figure of Henrietta Lacks, honoring her legacy in advancing medical science, and explore “Cash Crop,” a moving temporary exhibit by artist Stephen Hayes that confronts the realities of the transatlantic slave trade through sculpture and storytelling.

Why:
The Street Fair is more than a festival; it’s a celebration of Black history, community resilience, and the power of collective healing through arts and culture. Originally launched in 2015 to support the Growing Griots Literacy Learning Program, it has grown to coincide with Juneteenth and The Museum’s anniversary. This year’s event continues The Museum’s Existential Determinants of Health (E.D.O.H.) Initiative, which integrates artistic and cultural practices to help Baltimore residents navigate and heal from trauma.
