Aquí Seguimos Guided Curator Tours & Matcha Tastings
In this exclusive, curator-led tour, Alana Guzman and Marah Abdel Jaber invite participants to experience Aquí Seguimos through a Mexican and Palestinian materialist historical lens. Attendees will be led through the gallery with a critical examination of the art, accompanying narratives, and a deep dive into the vision behind the show.
Post-tour matcha tasting included. Tours are available at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
CURATORS:
MARAH ABDEL JABER
Marah Abdel Jaber is a Palestinian writer, researcher, and creative. Her work focuses on constructions of the Palestinian nation, literature, agriculture, and imaginative movements. She holds an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago and is a Fellow of the Institute for Palestine Studies.
ALANA GUZMAN
Alana Guzmán is a Mexican oil painter, born and raised in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, and now based in Washington, DC. Drawing from her cultural roots and immigrant experience, her work delves into the emotional tension between beauty and brutality, survival and surrender. Through vivid color and dynamic movement, she creates paintings that hold space for the contradictions and complexities of being alive.
ABOUT AQUÍ SEGUIMOS
Aquí Seguimos: A Legacy of Love and a History of Resistance is a collaborative group exhibition and fundraiser honoring the connection between Mexican and Palestinian communities. Rooted in contemporary art, this show aims to honor the radical act of imagining liberation while living with the weight of the histories we inherit and the reality we endure.
