Learn waste-canvas tatreez in this interactive workshop led by Zaynab of DMV tatreez club Kana’an Collective. Participants will customize a special edition Aquí Seguimos jersey with tatreez through Zaynab’s guidance. The workshop fee includes supplies, a guide, and the limited edition Aquí Seguimos jersey designed by co-curators Alana Guzman and Marah Abdel Jaber. Space is limited – RSVP soon!

Zaynab Alsharif is a Palestinian-Irish artist, textile designer, and founder of Kana’an Collective. Working across embroidery, fashion, and material culture, her practice explores heritage, memory, and the ways cultural traditions evolve across generations and diasporas. Her work is deeply rooted in tatreez, the traditional Palestinian embroidery practice, which she approaches as both an archive and a living form of storytelling and self-expression. Drawing from her Palestinian heritage and experiences in the diaspora, Zaynab creates work that honors the past while making space for contemporary interpretations of Palestinian identity. Through her practice and community work, she seeks to preserve, celebrate, and share Palestinian material culture while supporting the women and artisans who carry these traditions forward.
