Baltimore Gamer Symphony Orchestra & Choir Spring 2023 Open Houses

Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore Gamer Symphony Orchestra & Choir (BGSO) is excited to invite musicians and singers to its upcoming Open House events for its 2023 spring season, “Beyond!”

The open houses, taking place in February and March, are a great opportunity for individuals to learn more about BGSO and how to join. Attendees will have the chance to meet BGSO leadership, see rehearsals in action, and learn about the organization as a whole.

The BGSO is an all-volunteer community video game orchestra that does not require auditions or dues from its musicians and choir members. All skill levels are welcome, making it the perfect opportunity for those who haven’t played their instrument in a while to get back into the swing of things.

If you cannot attend the Open House events, the BGSO allows for new membership on an ongoing basis.

ABOUT THE BALTIMORE GAMER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR
The BGSO is composed of two groups of musicians: instrumentalists and choir. Both groups hold rehearsals at the same time in the same building, allowing for a seamless integration of musical talents. Many of the musicians in BGSO are able to play their instrument in one piece and then sing in another, showcasing their versatility and skill.

The BGSO’s overall goal is to create a fun and inclusive community through the shared love of music. The orchestra is led by Tad Howley, a conductor known for his showmanship and ability to harness and refine the diverse musical backgrounds of the instrumentalists. Ethan Hart, the choir director, is a teacher by profession and is dedicated to helping members find their voice. He strives to ensure that the BGSO’s vocalists are able to produce the best sounds possible, regardless of their previous experience. The choir often arranges “mega choir” pieces, inviting all members of the orchestra, including instrumentalists, to sing along and form a large vocal group.
