Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Elgar, Tchaikovsky & Strauss

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra brings together three Romantic-era musical storytellers in a program led by conductor Daniele Rustioni, with cellist Johannes Moser. Elgar’s “In the South (Alassio)” opens onto a sunlit soundscape, while Tchaikovsky’s “Variations on a Rococo Theme” showcases the cello in an elegant series of transformations. Strauss adds playful mischief in “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks” before the sweeping romance of the “Der Rosenkavalier” Suite. It’s a vivid orchestral journey for listeners drawn to expressive melodies, lively character and richly colored sound.
