Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Elgar, Tchaikovsky & Strauss

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Daniele Rustioni, brings together three Romantic-era composers in a program of vivid orchestral storytelling. Cellist Johannes Moser joins the orchestra for Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, while Elgar’s In the South (Alassio) evokes an Italian landscape. Strauss adds comic mischief with Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks and rich operatic color in the Suite from Der Rosenkavalier. It’s a program that moves from lyrical cello writing to playful and sweeping orchestral scenes, offering classical music fans a varied evening in the concert hall.
