Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Mahler's Titan with Heyward

Jonathon Heyward leads the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in a program that moves from Andrea Tarrodi’s “Solus” to the sweeping drama of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, “Titan.” Violinist Gil Shaham joins the orchestra for the world premiere of Jonathan Leshnoff’s Violin Concerto, commissioned by the BSO. Mahler’s symphony unfolds from quiet, nature-inspired beginnings toward a triumphant affirmation, making this concert a meeting of a new work and a much-loved orchestral journey. Hear the BSO bring contrasting musical worlds together in the resonant setting of Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
