Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - The Music of Joe Hisaishi

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, led by Assistant Conductor Jiannan Cheng, celebrates the music of Joe Hisaishi in a program that moves between the concert hall and screen. Known worldwide for his Studio Ghibli music and more than 100 film scores, Hisaishi is also a leading voice in contemporary symphonic music. His celebrated film credits include My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away, while his concert works draw on minimalist, symphonic and Japanese classical traditions. The evening offers a chance to hear the breadth of his musical storytelling in an orchestral setting.
