Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Thibaudet & the New World Symphony

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra brings pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet and conductor Tianyi Lu together for a program that moves from contemporary orchestral color to beloved symphonic drama. Salina Fisher’s Tupaia opens the program, followed by Khachaturian’s Piano Concerto, a work Thibaudet is known for championing. The concert concludes with Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” whose memorable melodies have made it a cornerstone of the orchestral repertoire. Hear three distinctive works take shape in the hands of a featured soloist, a guest conductor and Baltimore’s symphony orchestra.
