Visions and Company will host its 5th Black Authors Book Expo to spotlight Black writers and creators and promote literacy in the community.
Over 30 vendors from throughout the DC, Maryland, Texas and Virginia area will convene in the halls of the esteemed Western High School on Saturday, June 18, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission to the event is free, and with authors and publishers from ages five and beyond, it offers enjoyment for the whole family.
The event showcases the work of Black authors in a multitude of genres from fantasy, to self-help, interactive children’s literature and much more. Created in 2019 to be a celebration of Black authors and Black culture, the BABExpo continues to thrive on the heels of a crippling pandemic to offer a safe space for book lovers & creators alike.
Notable writers will have their works on display and for sale, light refreshments will be available, and guests will be privy to panel presentations & discussions from the authors.
