Candlebox with Sponge

Candlebox and Sponge bring two strands of ’90s alternative rock together for a guitar-driven concert at The Fillmore Silver Spring. Candlebox broke through with its 1993, multi-platinum self-titled debut, pairing a hard-rock edge with melodic hooks in songs such as “Far Behind,” “You” and “Change.” Detroit band Sponge made its mark with the platinum-selling album “Rotting Piñata”, featuring the propulsive “Plowed” and “Molly (16 Candles).” Expect an evening rooted in the era’s mix of grit and big choruses, with familiar songs that invite a full-room singalong.
