Deaf Culture Workshop

Home Events Deaf Culture Workshop

Ever wonder what Deaf culture is? Curious about American Sign Language? What about the Deaf communities? This workshop is for people wanting to learn about Deaf culture, American Sign Language, and Deaf communities. Participants attending this workshop will learn why and how Deaf people identify themselves as a member of a cultural and linguistic minority group while exploring cultural aspects that make up Deaf communities. Also, this workshop is an ideal first step to understanding better and becoming an ally towards the Deaf culture and the Deaf community in this era of diversity and inclusion.

This program is being held and coordinated in conjunction with The Hearing and Speech Agency of Metropolitan Baltimore.
