Baltimore’s beloved tradition returns in-person for the first time in five years! The Dragon Boat Races serve as the signature biennial event for Catholic Charities, Maryland’s leading private provider of human services. Dragon Boats raises funds to support Catholic Charities 80+ programs that provide critical services to 160,000 Marylanders in need annually.

New for 2023! The Dragon Boat Festival celebrates Catholic Charities Centennial in the City where it proudly started. A birthday gift back to Baltimore, the festival features live music by local bands, delicious food and beverages, hands-on activities for kids and a series of colorful community tents showcasing Catholic Charities programs. All are invited to cheer the race teams on to victory and enjoy this free afternoon of fun along the waterfront.

The races go from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the festival takes place from 2-5 p.m.

Charles Street will be closed from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. Please plan accordingly.
