Educator Night at the BMA
Educator Night invites teachers to connect with fellow educators, explore Flashback: Two Centuries of Baltimore Photography, and discover new ways to bring Baltimore’s history, communities, and stories into the classroom.
Enjoy free admission to Flashback, an exhibition tracing two centuries of photography in Baltimore, and explore how historical and contemporary photographs can serve as powerful tools for looking, questioning, and learning. Consider ways to use photography with students to build critical thinking, primary-source analysis, and media literacy skills while exploring Baltimore’s complex history, racial justice movements, and cultural shifts. Network with fellow local educators and meet the BMA Education staff in a welcoming, collaborative space. Participate in a creative, interactive art-making workshop inspired by the exhibition techniques. Enjoy light refreshments and drinks throughout the evening. Learn about upcoming school tours and BMA resources available for your students. Leave with new ideas and approaches for using photography across art, history, social studies, English language arts, and other subject areas.
Admission to Flashback: Two Centuries of Baltimore Photography is free for Educator Night participants during the event.
Although registration is encouraged, walk-ins are welcome.
