Father's Day Weekend Comedy: Allan Sidley Presents Daddy Issues

Comedian, author Allan Sidley and DMV comics take on Father’s Day weekend at Busboys and Poets Baltimore!

Doors: 730 P.M. Show: 8 P.M. | Food & drinks will be available for purchase.

This year, don’t disappoint dad with a tie, card or a grill accessory. Instead, bring him to Busboys & Poets Baltimore for a fun and hilarious evening of jokes that will have you laughing, groaning and finding humor in the unexpected.

Headlining the weekend is local comedian and author Allan Sidley. Despite growing up without a dad, he mastered the “dad joke” and wrote Daddy Issues: A Fatherless Comedian’s Original Jokes, a #1 new release on Amazon.

Join Allan and hilarious comedians from all over the DMV. This show is for dads, those with their own daddy issues, or simply love jokes.

Can’t make this event? Father’s Day Comedy continues all weekend at these Busboys & Poets locations:
-Friday, June 17: 14th & V at 9 P.M.
-Sunday, June 19: Shirlington at 6 P.M.

Headliner Allan Sidley: A comedian, author, actor, hip hop improviser and producer, Allan Sidley is a jack of all trades and has performed in festivals, clubs, and colleges across the country. Allan got his comedy start at a young age, riffing on his Mom’s issues at the dinner table. Many years later he founded the Tysons Comedy Cellar, where he refined his comedy chops by producing hundreds of comedy shows and teaching stand-up classes.

Allan’s humor is dry and a little wet from perspiration, usually. Poking fun at real subjects like his family, religion, politics and pokémon, his highly relatable material includes jokes and one liners that are edgy, provocative, corny, genius, and stupid. He loves sprinkling in top notch word play much to his audience’s delight and dismay.

Allan has hosted clean shows and corporate comedy gigs for Deloitte, the military, and non profit agencies, but he prefers the intimacy of a club. Allan has recently headlined Jammin Java, Church of Satire Comedy Club, Highwood Theater, and has opened at Laugh Index Festival (2017, 2018, 2019). He was a member of the Unkosher Comedy Tour (DC 2018 & 2019) and has appeared on TV (TLC, Fox 5, FPA.) Even though he lost his Dad at a young age, Allan has mastered the “dad joke” and wrote an entire book of them. Featuring 187 pages of original jokes, Daddy Issues was a #1 new release on Amazon. After not being on stage at all during the pandemic, Allan recorded an hour-long comedy special on Father’s Day 2021. He was seen on Fox 5 talking about his book, comedy, and show taping. Special release coming soon.

Abby Mello: Equal parts nerdy and dirty, Abby’s comedic style draws from her experience as an educator, social science researcher and human woman. Her relatable content is largely autobiographical – aimed at finding the funny in everyday life. A moderately famous comic once described her comedy as, “feminine, vulnerable, and not taking sh*t from anyone.” She is a regular host at Magooby’s Joke House and Punch Line Philly. She has performed at The Funny Bone, Helium Comedy Club, DC Drafthouse, Comedy Festivals, and many, many, bars. Abby produces an all-womxn comedy showcase in Baltimore called Lip Service.

Mike Moran: Mike is a Baltimore-based comedian, writer, and podcaster that has been entertaining audiences for almost a decade. He hosts the Confessional Podcast, delving into the dark, creepy and often haunting stories of their listeners.

Dry, deadpan and simultaneously smart & stupid, Mike has shared the stage with Michael Ian Black, Creed Bratton, Robert Klein & More. Oh, and give his hilarious album Please Like Me a listen.

Hosted by Dark Mark: Dark Mark is a Baltimore-based comedy veteran and the host of a Monday open mic Sidebar. For a good time, call 1-800-hell yeah.
