Flag Day 2025

Flag Day is the annual commemoration of the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. First established as a holiday by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916, National Flag Day was officially established by an Act of Congress in 1949. This year, the 99th annual commemoration by the Flag House, the theme of the day is “Our American Identity.” We are asking participants and visitors to ask themselves and reflect on the following questions (and more): What does it mean to identify yourself as an American? How do the rights afforded to Americans by the Constitution and symbolized by the American flag connect you to the communities you are a part of?
