Duo Ingolfsson-Stoupel perform works of Fauré and Dubois, marking 100 years since the deaths of these French masters

Vladimir Stoupel, piano

Marking 100 years since the deaths of Théodore Dubois & Gabriel Fauré, Duo Ingolfsson-Stoupel presents a program of French repertoire that pays homage to these influential figures. Dubois, a renowned composer, organist, and pedagogue, served as the director of the Paris Conservatoire, and this program will feature his Violin Sonata. The concert’s centerpiece is Fauré’s transcendent Violin Sonata in A Major, Op. 13, a work beloved for its freshness and lyricism ever since its premiere in 1877. Judith Ingolfsson, Professor of Violin at the Peabody Institute, and Vladimir Stoupel, are renowned soloists who together forge a musical partnership that is both intimate and invigorating. Their performances resonate with a shared artistic vision, making this a concert not to be missed.
