George "Spider" Anderson Music and Arts Festival

Park Heights Renaissance is delighted to announce the upcoming 3rd Annual George ‘Spider’ Anderson Music and Arts Festival, a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and creativity. The festival, sponsored by Wells Fargo, will feature pony riding from City Ranch, a performance by Avery Sunshine, Paula Campbell and guest artists, and a diverse group of local vendors promising a day of fun and entertainment for all ages.
The festival, named in honor of the late George ‘Spider’ Anderson, the first African American Jockey to win the Preakness, will take place on May 11, 2024, in the 4801 block of Park Heights Avenue at Woodland Avenue. This year’s event aims to showcase the rich artistic talent and cultural diversity of Park Heights while providing a platform for residents to come together and enjoy a day filled with music, art, and festivities.

“We are excited to host the Annual George ‘Spider’ Anderson Music and Arts Festival once again,” said Yolanda Jiggetts, President of Park Heights Renaissance. “This festival is not only a celebration of the late great Spider Anderson and the unofficial kick-off to Preakness but also a testament to the strong sense of community and creativity that defines Park Heights.

Highlights of the festival include:
Pony riding with City Ranch, providing a unique and enjoyable experience for children and families.
Live performances by Avery*Sunshine, Paula Campbell, and Natalie Phillips showcasing a diverse range of musical delight.
Local vendors offering a variety of arts, crafts, and culinary delights, providing an opportunity to support small businesses and artisans from the area.
