
George "Spider" Anderson Music and Arts Festival
Park Heights Renaissance proudly presents the 4th Annual George Spider Anderson Music & Arts Festival on Saturday, May 10, taking place at the intersection of Park Heights and Oakley Ave. Now the official kickoff to Preakness 150 Festival, under the leadership of First Ladies Dawn Moore and Hana Scott, this free community celebration honors the legacy of George Spider Andersonthe first Black jockey to win the Preakness in 1889and uplifts the rich history of Black horsemen in American racing.
Enjoy a dynamic day with MC Lyte and Doug E. Fresh, host April Watts, and performances by Natalie Phillips, Gerson Franco, Eclipse Band, and other local artists. There’s fun for the whole familyhorseback rides, carnival games, food trucks, vendors, and a kids’ zone.
