Hao Liu, Classical Pianist

Join classical pianist Hao Liu for an afternoon of music at An die Musik Live!
The program features three parts

– Beethoven Variations on F major, Op.34
– Debussy Preludes Book 1
– Ravel La Valse.

Born in Shanghai, Chinese pianist Hao Liu has been consistently acclaimed for her beautiful and sensitive interpretation of music with deep feeling. After made her recital debut at the age of nine, she has given numerous solo and concerto performances around Asia, Europe and North America in world famous venues such as Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU in Fort Worth, Jordan Hall at New England Conservatory in Boston, Friedberg Concert Hall at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Concert Hall, He Luting Concert Hall in Shanghai Conservatory, Hong Kong Auditorium Sha Tin Town Hall, Concert Hall of Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, Ningbo Concert Hall, Suzhou Culture and Art Center, Guizhou Grand Theater, Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt, Royal Music Academy Concert Hall in Aarhus, the Town Hall of Maiori in Italy. In recent years, she has also been invited to perform in important music festivals include Festival Piano aux Jacobins and CCOM piano festival in Beijing.

Also active as a chamber musician, Hao has often collaborated with both instrumentalists and vocalists and performed a wide repertoire ranging from Beethoven violin sonatas, Brahms Trios and quartets to Schumann’s song cycle Dichterliebe. During the years, she has worked with exceptional artists such as Miriam Fried, Donald and Vivian Weilerstein, Seth Knopp, Michael Kannen, Tony Arnold and Eileen Cornett.

Started her musical education at the age of four, Hao received her early training at Music Middle School affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Jin Tang. In 2014, she was accepted in Shanghai Conservatory with the highest score and studied with Minduo Li. She has won many international competitions and received various music scholarships every year. She earned her master’s degree from Peabody Conservatory where she studied with Boris Slutsky and her Graduate Diploma from New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Alexander Korsantia and Alessio Bax.
