Henrietta Lacks Mural Unveiling

Join Nosreme Baltimore, the Lacks family, and East Baltimore residents for the unveiling of a community-initiated mural honoring Henrietta Lacks on the Johns Hopkins medical campus. The evening begins with a ribbon cutting at 800 N. Washington Street, followed by a program at Henderson Hopkins featuring performances by the Morgan State University Choir and members of the Juilliard Black Alumni Association, Brandy Woody along with remarks from Alfred Lacks Carter of the Henrietta Lacks House of Healing.

This project has been years in the making, rooted in community collaboration and Baltimore’s legacy of resilience, health equity, and creativity. Attendees will also experience an artist talk with muralist Shawn Perkins and Nosreme Baltimore’s signature shared meal event.
