Hot L Poets Series, ft. Michael B. Tager & Burgi Zenhaeusern
Sunday December 14, 2025 at 4 p.m., The HOT L Poets Series continues with poets Michael B. Tager & Burgi Zenhaeusern! The event will take place at Bird in Hand Coffee & Books at 11 E. 33rd St. to be indoors for the cooler season. The reading includes an open mic so bring a poem (1 poem, 3 min. or less).
Now in its 7th year, the reading series is sponsored by Smartish Pace and Baltimore Poets Theatre. Hosts: Clare Banks, David Yezzi, Stephen Reichert, and Dan Todd.
Michael B. Tager is the author of Pop Culture Poetry: The Definitive Edition (Akinoga Press, 2024). Michael was the Managing Editor of Mason Jar Press, but is now on the board. He is currently a freelance publicist, editor and writer.
Burgi Zenhaeusern (she/her) is the author of White Door (Carbonation Press, 2025) and the chapbook Behind Normalcy (CityLit Press, 2020), winner of the Harriss Poetry Prize. She co-edited the translations of the anthology Knocking on the Door of The White House (J. Ballesteros, editor, zozobra publishing, 2017). Her work, most recently, appeared in Diagram, Glass: a Journal of Poetry, JMWW, and as broadside (runner-up for the Ashland Poetry Press Broadside Contest, 2023). Originally from Switzerland, she lives outside Washington D.C. on Nacotchtank and Piscataway land.
