Introduction to Ceramics Series (March 14/15 & 22)

Join us for an Introduction to Ceramics Class Series with artist member Sofia!

About the Class
Choose between:

2-Day Option: One clay technique + Glaze Day

3-Day Option: Two clay techniques + Glaze Day

Each clay session includes 5 lbs of clay per participant, all tools, and kiln firing.

Each session is 3 hours (up to 9 hours of total studio time with the 3-day pass).

What We’ll Make
Day 1 – Pinch Pot Handbuilding (March 14)

Create either a cup or a planter. You can make one larger piece or two smaller pieces.

Day 2 – Slab Building (March 15)

Choose between a garlic grater & herb stripper or a trinket dish. Customize the size and design to your liking.

Day 3 – Glazing Techniques (March 22)

Learn decorative underglaze methods:

Sgraffito: Paint with underglaze and carve designs to reveal contrast.

Inlay: Carve a design, fill with underglaze, and wipe back for a bold outlined effect.

All glazing will be done with underglaze before final kiln firing.
