IvyKids Event: Rennie Dyball, FIONA AND THE PECULIAR PRAISE
Do we have any cat lovers among the kids out there? We thought so. Meet Fiona, short for Queen Fiona of Apartment 4C. She’s the star of Rennie Dyball’s new picture book, FIONA AND THE PECULIAR PRAISE. Come on down to the Ivy on Saturday, May 31 for activities with the author… and some lessons about self-esteem along the way.
Rennie Dyball is a children’s book author, nonfiction collaborator and editor who works in many genres. Her picture book debut, B Is for Bellies, was named a Bookstagang 2023 award winner for Best Read Aloud. Her newest picture book, Fiona and the Peculiar Praise, comes out May 13.
Rennie’s middle grade novel, Good Boy, Eddie, told from the perspective of a school horse, won a 2024 Purple Dragonfly award and a 2023 Equus Winnie Award. She created the middle grade novel series Show Strides, a two-time Equus Winnie Award winner, which she co-authors with Piper Klemm. The series was acquired in 2023 by Andrews McMeel Universal in a seven-book deal. Books 1-3 are available now, 4 and 5 come out in 2025, and additional books in the series will follow.
