Jose Ramirez

At 34 years old, Jose Ramirez has surely become the #1 Latino Blues artist in The United States and has played with some of the biggest names in the Blues industry. These artists include Keb’ Mo’, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Buddy Guy, Kingfish, Janiva Magness, Jimmy Johnson, Bob Stroger and Anson Funderburgh, to name a few.

In 2022, Jose signed a contract with world-famous Blues & Jazz label Delmark Records in Chicago for the release of his second studio album making him the first ever Latin-American artist to ever sign with this renowned record company in 69 years.

Jose is a 2X Blues Music Award Nominee including his recent nomination for this year’s BMAs in the category of Best Emerging Artist Album.

Jose recently performed at the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise January 2023.
This made him the first ever Latino to be a part of such an exclusive line up, sharing the bill with Taj Mahal, Keb’ Mo’, Sue Foley, Tommy Castro, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Walter Trout and Ivan Neville to name a few.
While performing on the cruise, Jose was personally invited on stage by his hero Keb’ Mo’ and also jammed with Chicago Blues royalty Ronnie Baker Brooks, Billy Branch and Lil’ Ed Williams.

In the past 4 years, Jose has traveled the world playing the blues. His annual European tours include shows all over England, Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Denmark and Germany. His U.S. tours every year include shows all over the Midwest, Northeast and the South. Highlights have included shows at the legendary Buddy Guy’s Legends, where Buddy Guy himself has joined Jose on stage on a few occasions.

The Jose Ramirez Band won second place at the Blues Foundation 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. The band performed in the finals at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis after advancing to the quarter and semifinals against more than 230 bands from around the world.
