Lysistrata

In Aristophanes’ classic anti-war comedy, Lysistrata rallies the women of Greece to end the Peloponnesian War by withholding sex and taking control of the state treasury. The STAR Centre’s presentation brings this bold tale of protest, political power and gender roles to the stage in a production titled “Lysistrata.” Its sharp humor and audacious premise offer audiences a lively encounter with a play whose questions about resistance and peace still resonate.
