Mandela Day Celebration
We’ll be honoring the legacy of Nelson Mandela, the South African anti-apartheid activist and politician. He represented many firsts for South Africa: first Black head of state and the first elected president in a fully representative democratic election, which he served as from 1994 to 1999.
Together with UMBC’s Center for Global Engagement, we’ll be welcoming the participants from the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders and local Baltimore leaders supporting the pan-African community.
Pan-Africanism is a shared mission to foster connection and collaboration among all people of African descent, which includes people who lived inside and outside of Africa.
To celebrate, our community will be joining us to network, share global and local perspectives, and enjoy cultural performances (and of course good food)!
Register to join the celebration and connect with local and global social change leaders!
