MARMIA’s Monthly Movie Night: A Journey Through Classic Films, Local Creations, and Documentaries
Join us for an unforgettable evening of the magic of cinema. Hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Regional Moving Image Archive (MARMIA), each screening offers a unique opportunity to dive into the past, experience local talent, and explore the stories that have shaped our community.
What to Expect:
Classic Films: Relive the timeless masterpieces that have influenced generations, from iconic Hollywood gems to beloved regional classics.
Locally Created Films: Celebrate the creativity and passion of filmmakers from our very own backyard. Discover hidden gems and fresh perspectives from the Mid-Atlantic’s vibrant film scene.
Documentaries: Engage with compelling narratives that document the region’s history, culture and untold stories. From local heroes to pivotal moments in time, these films bring our past to life.
MARMIA is dedicated to preserving and sharing audiovisual treasures that capture the essence of the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region—from home movies and mixtapes to vintage TV broadcasts and more. Our screenings offer a rare chance to see these historically significant films, many of which are otherwise at risk of being lost forever.
Free Admission: Enjoy great films at no cost.
Rare Films: Watch forgotten footage, local archives and historical gems.
Community Connection: Meet fellow film lovers and celebrate the artistry of our region.
Whether you’re a cinephile, a history buff, or just looking for a fun evening out, MARMIA’s Monthly Free Movie Night is the place to be. Explore, learn, and be inspired by the films that have shaped our region’s past, present, and future.
Showroom will be open at 7PM – grab a drink and a snack before you venture into the Theater for the first screening. There will be a brief intermission between films.
