Music of the American Revolution—America's 250th: David and Ginger Hildebrand Concert

MCHC welcomes renowned music historians David and Ginger Hildebrand for an evening of early American music, thoughtfully arranged from 18th-century sources. Specializing in the research, recording, and performance of historic American music, David and Ginger have shared their work through concerts and educational programs across the country and internationally since 1980.

The American war effort was expressed through patriotic songs, ballads, and dance tunes. The Hildebrands will perform these and demonstrate their instruments, including the harpsichord, hammered dulcimer, violin, and Spanish & English guitars—interpreting various musical traditions, featuring both the formal and less refined aspects of music during the Revolutionary era.
