Noon Concerts at Mount Vernon

Home Events Noon Concerts at Mount Vernon

Join us at The Ivy Bookshop’s Mount Vernon Pop Up for a noon concert series this December!

Performers will grace your noon hour shopping experience with beautiful music during select days in December. Made up of entirely students and alumni of the Peabody Institute right across the street, these performances are sure to be special. Each performance is designed so that you are able to both browse the bookshop and listen at the same time – a true dream for any multitasker during the holiday season. Join us on your lunch break during the week, and bring your family on the weekend!

December 11 – Prosopopoeia, a brand new Baroque ensemble of Peabody students, will present “La Lyre d’Apollon:” Greek Myth in the French Baroque. Pieces for soprano and ensemble will explore the vast treasury of French Baroque music that draws inspiration from Greek mythology. Experience the performance on period instruments including harpsichord, traverso and viola da gamba.

December 12 – Come to hear carols with a local vocal quartet made up of Peabody students and alumni. These singers have all been staples in the Peabody vocal ensemble community, and they work professionally at Mount Vernon area churches!

December 13 – International concert artist and Peabody GPD student, Tommy Dupuis, will perform a selection for classical guitar in anticipation of his upcoming Canadian tour. As the sole classical musician chosen for The Canadian Broadcast Channel’s annual Revelation of the Year 2025-26, Tommy will appear on famous Canadian stages, radio shows, and television networks.

December 14 – If you missed Prosopopoeia’s first concert (or you were floored by their performance), you’re in luck! They will perform the same program again on the 14th.

December 18 – Not a noon concert! The Come out at 8 p.m. for Season of Wonder Holiday Concert featuring Clayton Bryant. UNITE Mount Vernon launches the church into a new season of creativity and community. Read more here!

December 19 – Ladies Out Loud, a treble-voiced trio made up of Peabody alumni, will present a selection of pieces from the fourteenth through twenty-first centuries.

December 20 – Medieval Mystery: a surround sound medieval vocal experience. Bask in the ancient sounds of Hildegard von Bingen and others on the eve of the longest night of the year.

So many great opportunities to experience music in Mount Vernon this December!
