Formally trained musicians, Rufus Roundtree and Da B’More Brass Factory infuse the essence of the New Orleans brass band sound that defines the Mardi- Gras experience with a hometown contemporary flare; recreating versions of R&B and hip-hop songs with funk, neo- soul and jazz elements… guaranteed to keep the crowd dancing. This band has opened for George Clinton and The P-Funk All Stars, Dru Hill, 112, The Soul Rebels and The Grammy Award Winning Rebirth Brass Band along with Let The Monkey Go and many others. Rufus wears his signature Chapeau, which can be seen all over the party, as a result of an on-stage encounter while playing with George Clinton where Clinton ended up taking his stage hat, which originally was just a fedora, leaving him no other choice than to walk into his destiny and become the iconic entertainer he is today. Ask him to tell you about it, Great story. This band is a crowd favorite and often participates and headlines numerous local and national festivals. This band gained media attention at the center of the Baltimore Riots/Uprising as a result of their call to action to restore harmony to the community and peace to the streets through music. Rufus believes in an enhanced audience experience so expect to be a part of the show.
