Always wanted to try sailing? This is your chance.

Join the Downtown Sailing Center for a 3-hour Taste of Sailing experience on Baltimore’s beautiful waterfront. Designed for complete beginners, this hands-on course teaches the basics of steering (helming), trimming sails, and understanding essential sailing terms — all while you’re out on the water.

With a maximum of four students per boat, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take the tiller, handle the sails, and feel what it’s like to harness the wind. Prefer to relax for a few minutes and take in the skyline? That’s welcome too.

There’s nothing quite like sailing to build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of independence — and it’s simply a joyful way to spend an afternoon or evening.
