Don’t let the red hair fool you! This singer, songwriter, producer and host that is Sylver Logan Sharp shapes her creative visions into music mastery and entrepreneurial genius! With two full CD releases, numerous singles and guest appearances, Sylver is making new moves, new music and new jewels!
A Duke Ellington School of Arts Alum and former lead singer of the legendary group CHIC, (w/Nile Rodgers & the late Bernard Edwards) Sylver is poised to break boundaries with her latest musical movement, No.More.Color.Lines. More than a song, this project, produced in collaboration with impresario, producer/ pianist, Daryl L.A. Hunt, represents a social equity campaign to promote racial harmony. The music video brings together a number of independent recording artists, many from the local DMV area, with internationally acclaimed performing artists such as: Will Downing, Howard Hewett, Cheryl Pepsii Riley, CeCe Peniston, and Christie Dashiell. A Go-Go Remix (the official sound of DC), produced by Roy Battle, is now available.
As the Voice Of CHIC for 20 years, Sylver toured the US, Europe, Japan, the UK and performed at Night of the Proms with the orchestra, Il Novencento, Montreux Jazz Festival, Hollywood Bowl, The Paradiso, the Budokan, Osaka Jo Hall and every Blue Note in Japan! Her CHIC discography includes: CHIC-ism, CHIC, Le Freak and More Treats, CHIC, the Definitive Grove and the DVDs, CHIC, Live at The Budokan, CHIC, Live at Montreux and CHIC, Live in Amsterdam. She also appears on Carlos Santana’s Hymns for Peace.
Both Sylver and Daryl earned a Grammy for their work on the Yolanda Adams, The EXPERIENCE, LIVE at Constitution Hall CD. Her voice can also be heard on Rebel Soul and the Rock N Roll Jesus (CD) with
Kid Rock, I Hold On CD by Slash, her #1 Billboard Hit, All This Time with Jonathan Peters, PASHA NYC CD, Michael Bolton’s Swingin’ Christmas CD and her GO-GO singles, REAL BROTHERS featuring, Rare Essence and NO MORE featuring DJ Rico.
TV appearances include: VH-1 Storytellers, Larry The Cable Guy’s Christmas Special, Ellen with Kid Rock, as well as numerous entertainment shows in Italy on the Rai TV network and Norway. While in Sweden, Sylver appeared on The Malou Van Sivers Show, TV4’s Sommerkryset TV Show as a featured artist and performed a duet with Swedish music royalty, Magnus Carlsson.
Both of Sylver’s solo cds, Place To Begin and THE GROOVEMENT are co-produced and co-written with Daryl L.A. Hunt. Their blend of musicality and funk is always an independent masterpiece! This animal “dog mom” activist’s voice and namesake jewelry line, SYLVERWEAR, keeps her in the company of “who’s who”. SYLVERWEAR clients include Omar Hakim, Nile Rodgers, Sir Elton John, Chaka Khan, Najee, Roberta Flack and the late Donna Summer.
