Vital Perspectives on Healthcare and Science: Featuring Christy Slobogin, Putting Plastic Surgery on Paper

Home Events Vital Perspectives on Healthcare and Science: Featuring Christy Slobogin, Putting Plastic Surgery on Paper

The Vital Perspectives on Healthcare and Science series engages with some of the most pressing public health issues of our time, in a regular public forum catalyzed by a book.

For this May 13 event, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Christine Slobogin, in celebration of her book Putting Plastic Surgery on Paper: How Art and Archives Defined Second World War Reconstructive Surgery in Britain! We love this title for its unexpected and delightful links between healthcare, art, and history, and we think you will, too.

Indeed, the book takes an interdisciplinary approach to medical history that shows the key role that drawings and photographs had in shaping the material, professional, emotional and aesthetic parameters of plastic surgery.

Whether it’s your first time at the series or your fourteenth, we hope you’ll come join us to hear more!
