What It's Like
Step inside the Maryland Center for History and Culture and you’re immediately immersed in the dynamic story of this state as told by artifacts of the people and events that shaped it. The 23,000 square feet of galleries in the museum features exhibits that showcase collections of artworks, fabrics, clothing, furniture and historic objects to engage and delight visitors. In the library, guests can explore more of Maryland’s past through books, journals, manuscripts, maps, documents and photographs.
Don't Miss
With its new website, MDhistory.org, MCHC now offers virtual exhibitions. Its first, Forgotten Fight, illuminates Maryland’s part in the voting rights movement. In the interactive exhibit, you assume the voter ID of a real Marylander of the time, follow the timeline of the fight for voting rights and get to see how your vote is impacted along the way.
