Chesapeake Fishing Open at Port Covington
Founded in 2019, The Chesapeake Fishing Open in Port Covington was created to be a fun and competitive day of fishing that supports local non-profit organizations that focus on improving water quality and promoting conservation efforts in and around the Patapsco River and Harbor Basins. The tournament and festival is held at Baltimore Yacht Basin on the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River.
On water, participants will compete for the biggest Rockfish, Catfish, Snakehead and White Perch. On land, the event will begin with a shoreline cleanup organized by the Maryland Waterways Foundation. Family-friendly festivities throughout the day will include fishing lessons for kids, filleting demos, and arts and crafts. When the contestants get back to shore the party heats up, with live music, raffle prizes, and some of Baltimore’s best seafood at Nick’s Fish House! Stay tuned for special event announcements as we get closer to tournament season.
This event is open to all who wish to participate. Register for the tournament here.
