Ivy Kids Saturday: 1st Day of School Picture Frames with Author Dee Write

Head to the Ivy on Saturday morning, September 14, to make a craft with children’s author Dee Write, whose picture books about Little Ruth follow a young character learning to build confidence and head out into the world (like on the first day of school!) with the support of her family behind her.

Joined by the author herself, we’ll make picture frame crafts for you to use to frame your first-day-of-school photos, and you’ll have a chance to have your books signed! Stop by any time between 9-10 to join in, and then play some lawn games and browse the shop.

Dee Write is the author and creator of the Little Ruth Children’s Collection, a book series and products, which includes books such as First Day of School, Backpack Mishap, and Halloween Drama Queen. Dee has enjoyed creating stories ever since she was a child. Her first published work titled, If I Were a Crayon, was printed in her elementary school’s journal when she was just a young girl, and Dee’s zeal for creative writing never waned. Dee lives in Virginia, near Washington, D.C. She loves enjoying time with her family and writing about Little Ruth’s new adventures.
