Baltimore Folk Club Presents: Tall Poppy String Band

The Baltimore Folk Club is proud to present Tall Poppy String Band on Friday June 19, 2026. Come celebrate Pride Month with us and explore the unique sound of this majority trans Old Time trio featuring Cameron DeWhitt, Morgan Harris (both based in Portland, OR) and George Jackson (Nashville, TN). Tall Poppy shows are deeply historically informed by the American string band tradition, with special emphasis on those parts of the music’s lineage that are often ignored. Yet the band also approaches their source material with playfulness and experimentation, joyfully engaging with old time tunes and songs from where they stand as contemporary musicians with their own distinct artistic voices.

Baltimore is home to a thriving old time and bluegrass scene, and we’re excited to bring these high-caliber musicians to play for our Baltimore audience. They’ve dazzled at the Baltimore Old Time Festival in years past, and we can’t wait to hear them in a more intimate setting at Zissimos Lou Costello Room in Hampden. Get your tickets today!
