Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra brings a richly contrasting program to the Music Center at Strathmore, led by conductor David Afkham and featuring pianist Lukáš Vondráček. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 anchors the performance, framed by Lili Boulanger’s haunting D’un soir triste, Bartók’s dramatic The Miraculous Mandarin Suite, and Ravel’s sweeping La valse. The evening moves from introspective atmosphere to virtuosic piano writing and vivid orchestral color, offering classical music fans a chance to experience four distinctive works in one concert.
