Beginner Realistic Colored Pencil Drawing

Students will be introduced to the basics of realistic colored pencil technique while drawing a red plum. Techniques including layering, color mixing, shading, preserving highlights, blending, and burnishing will be discussed and applied in the students’ drawings. Students will also practice using a reference photo as a guide to identifying and reproducing realistic colors as well as locating highlights, shadows, and midtones. No prior colored pencil experience is necessary; some drawing experience will be helpful but is not required. Ages 14+
