Black Woman Genius Monologues

For three unique performances at the Reginald Lewis Museum, 830 E Pratt St, Baltimore, MD 21202, June 6 & 19, My Brilliance Shines Theater Troupe will perform 8 monologues based on the Black Woman Genius exhibit currently on display at the Museum. Students will pay homage and tell the life stories of contemporary Black women fiber artists from the Chesapeake area, while embodying each artist’s mannerisms, artistic look and values.

Written by Wordsmith in collaboration with each artist’s own words, the monologues explore themes of ancestry, tradition, fiber narratives, and healing just like the exhibit.
