Blythe Roberson: America The Beautiful? (In Conversation With Kelsey McKinney)

The Ivy Bookshop is over the moon to announce Blythe’s return to Baltimore to celebrate her latest book, America the Beautiful?: One Woman in a Borrowed Prius on the Road Most Traveled! Blythe will be joined by the incredible reporter, writer and podcast host Kelsey McKinney. It’s sure to be a fantastic night at Bird in Hand, our sibling shop in Charles Village.

In America the Beautiful?, Roberson examines Americans’ obsession with freedom, travel and the open road. It’s a funny, entertaining travelogue that blends the humorous observations of Bill Bryson with the piercing cultural commentary of Jia Tolentino.

Blythe Roberson is a comedian, a humor writer, and author of How to Date Men When You Hate Men. She has written for The New Yorker, Cosmopolitan, Kinfolk, Esquire, Vice Magazine, and for the NPR quiz show Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! Kelsey McKinney is a reporter and writer who lives in Philadelphia. She is a co-owner and features writer at where she is the host and co-creator of the podcast Normal Gossip. Her first novel, God SpareThe Girls, was published in the summer of 2021.
