For the Love of...Rapture
Charm City Live Music presents For the Love of… Rapture, an intimate live celebration of the 40th anniversary of Anita Baker’s iconic 1986 album Rapture. Baltimore vocalist and Charm City Live Music founder LuzCelenia, joined by her band Frequency, will perform the album in its entirety alongside a curated selection of songs connected to its influence and musical legacy.
Known for documenting and championing Baltimore’s live music scene through Charm City Live Music, LuzCelenia steps from behind the camera and onto the stage for the inaugural installment of For the Love of Live Music, a new event series celebrating the albums, artists and songs that become part of our lives.
Presented at Papillon’s Cocoon in downtown Baltimore, the evening combines live musicianship, storytelling and the warmth of grown-folks R&B in an intentionally intimate setting limited to just 50 guests. For the Love of… Rapture is not an impersonation of Anita Baker, but a love letter to the music, honoring an album that, four decades later, remains a soundtrack for love, longing and romance.
