Mary Pickersgill's 250th Birthday

Join the Flag House on February 12 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. for a day of commemoration, education and celebration as we celebrate Mary Pickersgill’s 250th birthday!

Born in Philadelphia on February 12th, 1776 around 10 o’clock at night, Mary Pickersgill (nee Young) was born during a pivotal time for the Young family and nation. Two years later in 1778, the death of William would be the  catalyst for what became a successful military supply and flag making business for Rebecca throughout the American Revolution.
