Maryland Zoo Takeover at Checkerspot Brewing

On Sunday, April 26, Maryland Zoo launches a beer collaboration with Checkerspot Brewing Co. Caesar’s Kölsch, which is named for Caesar, a 20-year-old male reticulated giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis reticulata) who has been a beloved member of our herd since he arrived in 2007.

Brewed with Motueka & Strata hops, Caesar’s Kölsch has a low alcohol content of 4.5% and a crisp, vibrant finish that pairs perfectly with summer BBQs, backyard hangs and even a stroll through the Zoo (where it will be available at concession stands).

During the Zoo taproom takeover, guests can explore educational stations, meet zookeepers, and learn how the Zoo’s conservation and sustainability work here in Maryland and around the globe, protects wild animals and wild places.
